Review of The Lincoln Lawyer (2011) by Guido S — 24 Aug 2013
This legal thriller starring Matthew McConaughey as a slimebag defense lawyer. In his new case, Ryan Phillippe is accused of assaulting a hooker and he is called to his defense. However, things aren't so cut and dry, like every other legal thriller.
McConaughey is pretty good, but I just couldn't get into Phillippe's 'not so innocent' character. The story seems to drag on longer than it needs to and has a few too many twists near the end to muddy things up a bit.
Marisa Tomei is also pretty good. Overall ok, not the worst legal thriller or the best, mearly ok.
