Review of The Lincoln Lawyer (2011) by Scott W — 05 Oct 2013
This is a decent cat and mouse thriller, with some good twists that keep you guessing. This has a great cast, from William H. Macy to Bryan Cranston. Matthew McConaughey has the perfect amount of sleaze for this role.
If I had an issue, it was with the direction. Some of it was too slick, the way certain scenes were shot and the transitions between present and flashback. I liked the more traditionally shot scenes better (like the courtroom stuff).
And McConaughey must be a close talker - there were a lot of scenes where he was so close to the other person's face I'm surprised they didn't burst out laughing.
