Review of The Limits of Control (2009) by Art S — 23 Feb 2010
Disappointed with this. perhaps because I just watched a jarmusch film the other day that explored the same themes with the same motifs (see my review of "coffee and cigarettes").
i'd characterize this film as a philosophical exploration. but I must say, I have problems with jarmusch's view. life is not wholly subjective - to say so is misleading and vague. I don't go in for hippy-dippy theories like that. logic, mathematics and aspects of the physical world have some objectivity to them. and there's the obvious problem: surely the statement that "reality is subjective" claims to be objective!
Watch at you own risk. if you're in the mood for something artsy fartsy this may be a good watch.
