Review of The Limey (1999) by Kenneth B — 28 Apr 2012
What starts out as worryingly low budget Deathwish clone takes a sudden turn to greatness as Stamp's overblown cockney killer finds his target and sets about exacting revenge. The stark colloquialism spouting killer effectively seeks his answers as he cuts a swathe through his enemies making for a surprisingly entertaining story.
Well shot scenes add a touch of style to the proceedings and gives the fantastic cast something to work with. Fonda & Newman emulate Columboesque 70's villains in look and style that fans of that era will appreciate.
