Review of The Limey (1999) by David G — 17 May 2012
Arthouse meets Death Wish in this unconventional revenge flick from Steven Soderbergh which stars Terence Stamp as a cockney career criminal, just released from his latest stretch inside, who travels across the pond to L.
A. to find those responsible for his daughter's death. Beautifully shot, well written and superbly acted, the film is short and sweet at a shade under 90 minutes. Soderbergh doesn't play it safe - throwing the traditional template for the genre out the window, chopping up the narrative and delivering a fresh spin on a familiar story.
