The Lighthouse is one of the craziest films I have ever seen. It absolutely nails psychological horror, and it sets the tone par excellance. The acting by Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson is peerless.
Pattinson in particular gives the best performance of his career. It's scary. It's shocking. There are a couple of scenes that took me out of the mood personally, but overall, this is a great horror that I have no trouble recommending.
In a sentence, The Lighthouse is what you would get if HP Lovecraft had written Call Me By Your Name.
