Review of The Light Between Oceans (2016) by Ben Y — 05 Sep 2016
I wasn't a huge fan of Blue Valentine, but I was a BIG fan of Place Beyond the Pines and this director must have had a real tough childhood or maybe lost custody of his kid or lost a child in his life because damn it really hits hard.
of course cinematography wise the film is beautiful and is a little slow, but it's all important and sets the mood. If you have kids, then this will hit you so much harder, but even if you're not a parent, this movie is so powerful.
I'm saying this to not ruin or spoil anything. the trailer is good enough. if you want to cry or be hit emotionally hard? watch this. of course Alicia and Michael are both excellent acting wise in this film.
