Review of The Light Between Oceans (2016) by Lore G — 22 Aug 2016
A moving tale based on a great book and artfully acted by two great actors. Vikander, specially, should be nominated as this piece shows her talent WAY better than "The Danish Girl" did. The mood of the film is well set, specially by Desplat's music score (the photography wasn't my favorite and I'm left wondering what Lubezky would have done for this stunning location).
It can be said that the story became "draggy" towards the end but at that point we were so invested in those characters that we went along, hankies in hand, to its conclusion. The screening crowd gave it a well deserved round of applause.
