The Lifeguard is a great example of why I enjoy independent films. The topics touched on in the story are not something that you would typically see in a movie made for theaters and it made for great viewing.
Yes, it was rather slow at times but those slow parts always led up to something good. The humor was rather dark and dry but good nonetheless. The acting I thought was excellent and the way the plot played out was intense and gripping and very well done.
Not everyone will enjoy this but I thought it was worth it.
