Review of The Life of Emile Zola (1937) by Jason D — 09 Apr 2010
I wasn't expecting much and in terms of script and direction, I got what I expected. a run of the mill biopic with nothing special added. it's basically about the dreyfuss affair, except with an episodic prologue of vignettes for the first half hour.
but I was really impressed by muni. it's hard to believe this is the same guy who was the lead in scarface. by the way, at no point in the movie does he look like the poster.
