Review of The Life of David Gale (2003) by Cannonball P — 23 Sep 2008
What I liked about this movie is the fact that it deals with capital punishment, and is centred in Texas, which is by far the state that executes more people per year than any other.
While the story itself is kinda convoluted, it is still intruiging. The tale gets told.
Parallel to an unexpected emotional connection that forms between David Gale and the journalist sent to tell his story.
A few twists and turns along the way makes for a more or less thrilling ride, and the ending takes you somewhere you wouldn't expect.
I gave this movie only a 6 because when you think back on the movie, some of the key points leave some pretty big unanswered questions. Other than that, it's worth a DVD rental.
