Review of The Life of David Gale (2003) by Nathan C — 06 Jun 2010
The Life of David Gale isn't a disaster, like many critics say. And it also isn't a masterpiece. It's just a flawed but otherwise alright movie. Carried by three strong performances (by Spacey, Winslet, and Linney) and establishing a firm commentary on the death penalty, it seems like it'd be a fine drama piece.
But, however, the "twist ending" wasn't really that good, and that some parts work while others don't. Also, the storyline seemed to be contrived, and the editing was somewhat choppy.
I seemed to like the music since they evoked some emotion out of me, to feel bad about this David Gale character.
