Review of The Life of David Gale (2003) by Marina N — 25 Aug 2013
A truly gripping story that kept me wondering and glued to the screened until the very end. Kevin Spacey is perfectly cast as the philosophy professor whose reputation is destroyed by rape accusations and his life by capital punishment.
Laura Linney as his friend and murder victim gives a wonderfully delicate performance. Kate Winslet as the journalist who writes up Gale's story and discovers loop holes in it is good as well - when is Kate ever not.
I am not sure if I want ot watch this film again but I certainly can't regret watching it once.
