Review of The Life of David Gale (2003) by Tim M — 28 Sep 2013
There really are so many flaws in this movie, that they entirely overshadow some good performances. Most seriously, we are led to believe that opponents of the death penalty behave in such a way that, if anything, works against their case.
As a result, It does not really work as an exploration of an issue. Sadly, nor does it as a suspense movie. So, we are left with a couple of mildly interesting characters, some very talented actors, and the cinematography of a capable director.
That's OK, but not nearly enough.
