Review of The Life Before Her Eyes (2007) by Dave M — 21 Jun 2008
Very disrespectful of its audience. This movie is bubbling over with nonsense that wastes our time, only to cruelly pull the rug out from under us when it decides to go forward with the final reveal. Uma Thurman's character is a train wreck, but not a sympathetic one.
It's kind of hard to like any of the characters, come to think of it. Though the movie ultimately makes sense in its own realm, the process is littered with amateur mistakes that even Evan Rachel Wood can't fix.
In fact, the whole storyline is a failure. Cool reference to Kill Bill Vol. 2 with the song, though.
