Review of The Life Before Her Eyes (2007) by Vero S — 28 Feb 2009
What a beautiful and poetic film! I found myself thinking about it hours after having seen it, and not only about the amazing storyline, but about the details, like the way everything in nature is shot so closely, and how certain images repeat themselves in different scenarios (like the water falling like rain in the bathroom scene and when she's walking with her friend).
Even though the ending was quite predictable, partly because the name gave it away, the film was enjoyable from start to finish. There's something about the way the whole story is told and the movie is shot that is just so mesmorizing.
I love the way it plays with time so effectively, telling the events in a different, yet more moving, order. It's hard to put into words, and this film might not be for every one but I thought it's one of the best I've seen.
Brilliant direction, performances and dialogues. Amazing movie.
