The best merits to this film are its portrayl of girls growing into being women. Somewhere along it starts to recycle already seen screens which does not work. The mixture of "future" and "past" does not work flawlessly.

It seems as if this is failed conversion from what could have been good oroginal book. Ok. Then there's a new twist in the end that kills the whole film.
