An odd ending doesn't keep me from recommending this movie HIGHLY. I love Wes Anderson's movies, Owen WIlson and Bill Murray. This is Anderson, WIlson and Murray at the best. We went to see it in the theater several times, and bought the DVD to boot.
Years after seeing it, my wife and I still quote lines from it. It's so nice to see movies that are so different from the formulaic crap that dominates movie screens these days. The Life Aquatic is one of the best movies I've ever seen.
