Review of The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004) by Dyah Z — 31 Aug 2013
I can't understand why this movie only got a mere fifty-ish percent in tomatometer. This is by far my favorite Wes Anderson's movie ever. A part from Sigur Ros' Staralfur is played on the background of a very touching "I wonder if it remembers me" moment, this movie literally got everything.
Lovely sea-adventure story (I didn't expect it would be that awesome, to be honest), pretty framing, stunning actor performances.. it's a laid-back gorgeous package of a magnificent tale of discovery.
Favorite character: Eleanor Zissou (Anjelica Houston as bad-ass biologist, oh please).
