Review of The Life and Death of Peter Sellers (2004) by Daijobu D — 29 Jul 2008
This is a great film dedicated to the one and only Peter Sellers. There were scenes recreated from Sellers' best remembered work that had me wondering if it was actually a clip from those movies. The approach to the narrative reminds me of ALL THAT JAZZ, which also rolls the story out from the perspective of the subject/person the biography focused on.
I guess it's mainly due to the fact that Geoffrey Rush just completely nailed Peter Sellers to a "T", it makes the casting of Stanley Tucci and Charlize Theron a little pale by comparison (not that they're not good actors, but it's just hard to compare to how well Rush fit into his role within the same film).
