Review of The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp (1943) by Dan T — 23 Mar 2008
It stared as the gayest war movie I had seen with lots of slapstick. I was not looking forward to the rest of the movie. About an hour into it, my attitude had changed, I completely cared about the tenderness between characters. It was a great exploration on how an idea can go from right to antiquated and does a good job of showing how even antiquated ideas can still lead to good.
Maybe it ignored the downside of imperialism a bit... but there I go complaining about a dated idea.
