Review of The Libertine (2004) by Ian M — 14 Mar 2012
This movie is amazingly acted, and is a bleakly beautiful film. Johnny is absolutely amazing, as are Morton and Pike. It is deeply dark, and the fact that Johnny's character is so deeply ugly inside in many ways that it eventually catches up with him on the outside gives you a harsh lesson about morality, and the fact that what goes around comes around.
Brilliant, but at times difficult to watch.
