Lush epic that has great production design, costumes, cinematography, musical score by nino rota, and above all a grand performance by lancaster, now im not familiar with italian history, so I probably wasnt able to appreciate all the historical aspects of the film, but its still a very well made film, also claudia cardinale looks damn fine in this.
