Review of The Leopard (1963) by Prach P — 14 May 2013
The Leopard tells the story of a Sicilian aristocratic family in the late 19th century, who found themselves squeezed the middle between the declining monarchy and the rise of a new order. The film shows how, even in a time of great political change, things can run more smoothly under the surface than it might seem.
The mechanisms that ensure the smooth transition are explicated with great subtlety here.
