A wild pace of action, rude jokes and pop-culture references - this is what The Lego Ninjago Movie is. Uneven, hard to follow and hyper-energetic the third instalment from the LEGO franchise has little to offer on top of the initial charm the LEGO characters have.

Loosely resembling the Darth Vader / Luke Skywalker theme from Star Wars, Charlie Bean's movie explores the "Villain Father" / " Hero Son" relationship set in the Ninjago City. The main issue with this is that the story is so unevenly paced and so fast paced and action-packed that at what point you will get the feeling as if you are just watching a hyperactive mumbo-jumbo of fighting LEGO bricks.

If this works fine the first twenty minutes, after that it starts becoming boring and one would get completely tired of all of this towards the final credits. This is quite unfortunate as there is no worse thing than a boring animation.

In the end, the conclusion about The Lego Ninjago Movie is very simple: the LEGO franchise has gone out of gas after three movies and this is a poor delivery which is not worth the time you need to see it.
