Review of The Lego Ninjago Movie (2017) by Steve H — 28 Sep 2017
If you can go in accepting that it's not on the level of its two predecessors, you'll probably enjoy yourself. As with most "family" films, it's all about the Laugh to Groan Ratio (LGR), and while Ninjago's LGR isn't quite in the neighborhood of Lego Movie and Lego Batman's pinball scores, it's still got a good amount of stuff to make adults laugh and is mostly free of annoyances.
A lot of the jokes really fall into "ok" or "passable" territory though. It is, at the end of the day, a middling film from a franchise that up until now had only been making gems.
