The Lego Ninjago movie is a let-down for huge fans of the previous installments in the Lego series. It feels so formulaic, forced, and just a tad uninspired, but still somehow maintains that Lego Movie charm, which keeps it entertaining.

Ninjago is a more recent phenomenon, meaning I doubt the cast and crew who worked on this movie had any connection to the source material, unlike its predecessors. However, this film is still a million times better than all the other animated crap being released that just feels soulless.

While the crew may not have had a deep connection with the source material, you could tell that they at least tried to make it entertaining and work with what they had.
