Review of The Lego Movie (2014) by John G — 11 Mar 2015
The LEGO Movie is funny, action-packed, and full of adventure. Not only does make you want to become a MasterBuilder, it makes you smile, heart-shattered, and shocked.
The premise is that a regular, unnoticed man is mistakenly identified as 'The Special', and goes on a journey with a blind old wizard whose staff is a lollipop, and a young woman whose boyfriend is Batman.
There are things in this movie I can relate to, unlike HTTYD 2 or Big Hero 6. President/Lord Business is very like me in a way that we both want everything to be the way it is, so it doesn't feel messy and misplaced. Sometimes I'm like that, but there comes a time when your creativity sparks and you become an instant Masterbuilder. LEGO Movie is that movie for you.
