Review of The Lego Batman Movie (2017) by Darksabre812 — 27 Feb 2017
I expected a mediocre kids movie and found myself laughing out loud the entire time. It is the best spoof film since Spaceballs. The movie captures the fun that superhero movie can be yet still retains a good message and solid character arch for our caped crusader.
The movie references are more timeless than fresh, pulling from years of inside jokes instead of using the current flavor of the week fads. Another big surprise was Zach Galafinakis's Joker. I would like to talk to him about the choices made in that character.
Still menacing and thoroughly evil, his Joker was able to explore the relationship between Batman and the Joker in a way that has only been done well in the comics and Dark Knight. Totally recommend.
