Review of The Lego Batman Movie (2017) by Fromkanga — 15 Feb 2017

I'm really impressed with this movie, I really liked the first lego movie but I didn't know if I was going to like this one, but after seeing this film, I can say with confidence that the lego batman movie is a must see for lego fans, for batman fans and for movie fans in general.

The story is surpringly really good and deep, it's more a character study of who batman is and his flaws, it talks about him being alone and wants to stay alone because he's afraid to lose someone close to him again and it gave us some unexpected emotional moments.

The characters are amazing, batman is likeable and funny but like I said he has unexpected depth, Robin, Barbara and Alfred were all really likeable and are important for the character of Batman.

But my favourite character in this movie (besides batman) was the joker, the relationship between him and batman was hilarious but also kind of heartwarming and people can actually relate to the joker, having the feeling of being underappreciated for the things you do for someone, it really took me off guard how well made the characters were.

The animation like the lego movie is freaking amazing, really impressive at times, there is so many details and hidden gags throughout this movie, there is so much thrown at the screen and it's a blast to look at.

It has so many themes and good morals, it makes it a really good film for kids, but adults who know batman will understand these references and will also have a great time.

I'm just so impressed, my only con with this film it's that sometimes there is so many jokes that you can get lost, but that's just a very minor flaw.

Conclusion: This is the best animated movie of this year for now, it's one of the funniest films I've seen in a long time, it's heartwarming and deep and it has fun and likeable characters.

It's sad that it's the best DC film since the dark knight and is more mature than suicide squad and Batman v Superman.
