Review of The Lego Batman Movie (2017) by Musicmaniac1965 — 12 Aug 2017

After being surprised how fun it was to watch "The Lego Movie" as an adult, I was looking forwards to see how the Batman frenchise would be used. I expected a more humorous tone than in the latest Batman movies, so starting from there.

Graphics are amazing, both in 3D as well as on the normal Blu ray. Even more so than the allready competent Lego Movie. Lighting effects, smoke, and I preferred the "real water" compared to the Lego water in Lego Movie. Nice to see lots of extra's amongst them also a reasonable part of how the movie has been made.

Sound was awesome in the theater, with nice surround effects. It worked at home as well, but the sounds did seem not to be as well placed (like the Batwing flying across the screen, the sound possition did not felt as deep and properly placed as in the movie theater). Still, it is good enough to pull me back into the movie again. I tried watching the Dutch langued version as well, but I came of much prefferring the original cast.

I feel I could re watch this movie even more so than The Lego Movie, due to the kind of humor suits me just fine, and almost all the character voices just felt right. For me, this movie is just as fun to watch as an adult then it is to watch along with the children.
