The Legend of Tarzan has a lot of hype in the trailer and, unfortunately, all of it stays there. Before anything, I would like to point out that I did not like the actor who played Tarzan (Alexander Skarsgard) throughout the movie.
I did not think he fits the role of Tarzan whatsoever. Tarzan being the main character in the movie and having somebody like Alexander play him really ruins a lot of the movie. With sloppy storytelling and incongruous CGI, the movie only goes downhill from here.
There are very few moments that are likable and those are the ones that remind viewers of the much-loved animated version of Tarzan. They remind viewers what this movie could have been. They remind viewers how much it is a disappointment.
This movie deserves a 38% rating, at best.
