Review of The Legend of Hercules (2014) by Snake P — 25 May 2014
Another addition to the January movie releases is a story about Hercules. This critically panned mess of a movie hasn't the entertaining value to warrant a recommendation. Unless you're all for watching a bad movie then by all means check it out. It has the greatness of becoming a cult classic in the bad sword and sandals genre.
Kellan Lutz sports the title of Hercules and the plot of this movie is so thin that it becomes almost hilarious. The story goes very simply: Queen Alcmene is knocked up by the Greek God Zeus one night and the King Amphitryon exiles the son of Zeus who is known as Hercules. He exiles Hercules because he fears of being overthrown which is what exactly happens so expect the predictable.
The movie is bombarded by cliches from the film 300 and the television show Spartacus. The CGI used looked dated and the dialogue from the actors stilted. Belongs nicely as one of the worst of 2014.
