Review of The Legend of Hell House (1973) by Katherine N — 31 Oct 2009
I love The Legend of Hell House. While its plotline is not very different from Robert Wise's classic The Haunting (based on Shirley Jackson's The Haunting of Hill House), The Legend of Hell House (based on Robert Matteson's novel Hell House) ups the ante with its disturbing depiction of sexuality, brutal murders, and increased focus on scientific attempts to grapple with the supernatural.
An atmospheric and highly entertaining little horro gem that should delight any fans of haunted house films.
