Review of The Legend of Bagger Vance (2000) by Virginia T — 04 Aug 2008
Accidentally, I bumped into this movie. Surprisingly refreshing & motivating.
Story is about playing the game. Not just the small game of golf, but the larger game of life. None of us is that lucky & could escape moments of confusion & self-doubts. We just want to run far far away - to forget & to be forgotten.
But how long can we hide away ? Forever ? Until we rediscover ourselves - our authentic swing, long lost in the world's "wouldas and couldas and shouldas" as we grew up.
Life isn't meant to be easy. If we expect winning every game & easy glory, we set ourselves for disappointment. Many a times, we don't understand why we are even here. Yet, we are not alone - " Ain't a soul on this entire earth ain't got a burden to carry he don't understand ?" " Life is a game that can't be won but played.".
Enjoy the game.
