You sacrificed your reputation to save him? He's just a kung fu guy.

The Wing Chun School is stunned when their leader passes away. The former and new leader of the school advise Ip Man to head to Hong Kong to continue his schooling but not to forget his martial arts training while away. While away, he learns new movements to incorporate within his Wing Chun technique. When he returns home for a school break, he is not accepted within his school due to his new strange movements. It also becomes apparent that the man responsible for the death of the former master is in the village and Ip Man becomes a suspect due to his new strange behaviors. Can Ip Man uncover the murderer?

Herman Yau, director of True Women for Sale, Chaos, Cocktail, Turning Point, Astonishing, and The Human Pork Chop, delivers Ip Man 3. The storyline for this picture is fascinating, especially for those who watched the previous two Ip Man movies. The action scenes are awesome despite Donnie Yen not starring in this picture. The cast delivers entertaining performances and includes Sammo Hung, Dennis To, Rose Chan, and Ip Chun.

"You can wait if you want. You can also feed the huge mosquitoes.".

I have thoroughly enjoyed the Ip Man trilogy; primarily due to the wonderful work by Donnie Yen, but this film has its own feel and martial arts delivery. I was a bit worried when I heard Yen was not involved in this picture, but this movie does a great job of standing on its own. I strongly recommend seeing this picture if you enjoyed the first two films or the martial arts genre. This is worth adding to your collection if you are a fan of the genre.
