Review of The Legend Is Born: Ip Man (2010) by Patrick G — 13 Jul 2012
Overall, it seems like it is less over the top and more grounded at first, like it could actually be the most historically accurate representation of Ip Man's life on film so far...that is until the last half hour when it just falls apart. SPOILERS FROM HERE...but you may laugh.
In the last half hour, it turns out that all along, Ip Man's adopted brother was a Japanese Ninja Assassin Spy Agent sent to take down Foshan by infiltrating it since he was a small child. This turns him into the main bad guy in the film. Then after the movie is over and the Japanese Ninja people are gone, you look on Google and find nothing mentioned of Ip Man ever having a brother.
