Review of The League of Gentlemen's Apocalypse (2005) by Tony B — 01 Nov 2007
Don't be fooled: this is by no means as poor as everyone may have said. While nowhere near vintage League, it's in places surprisingly good. The premise is layered with fourth-wall breaking but not too much to confuse, the trio of Gents are as good as ever (especially Shearsmith as the hilarious Geoff Tipps - props for giving him so much to do).
Plus, David Warner! C'mon, he should be in everything. Okay, so the ending's a bit iffy and we don't get enough classic characters, but it doesn't overstay it's welcome and it's better than no League at all.
