Review of The League of Gentlemen's Apocalypse (2005) by Alan D — 27 Oct 2009

As with most TV comedies breaking into the cinema "the league of gentlemen's apocalypse" falls into the same holes as most do. The first issue being it only selects three main characters from a massive ensemble.

This could cause an problem for some fans as they all want to see there favorite. The second issue is the direction the story takes, instead of developing on the world we all no and love, it destroys it and takes us into the real world with the shows actual writers.

I felt like this was a rather unimaginative direction and it spoilt the illusion of the show a little. The cast are on a top form as always and cameos from David Warner and Michael Sheen do help ad grandness to the whole thing, it just doesn't quite stand up as well as the series does.

not bad for a giggle, but if you haven't all ready check of all three series of the league's back catalogue.
