Review of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003) by Max D — 07 Feb 2012
I wanted to LOVE this movie but something about it doesn't feel finished. I feel there's too many characters and it's difficult to focus on any of them. Sean Connery as Quarterman is good, the others are lacking though and tend to get little focus, and honestly I think they should have left Dorian Gray and Tom Sayer out.
The plot they tried to make while entertaining felt flat in the later half. The beginning was pretty good, the raid on the castle was good, but most of the rest feels flat. Regardless of my nitpicking I did enjoy the movie what it did get right, but I couldn't help but feel they could have made it better.
Shame they didn't attempt to make further movies cause it might have helped them improve and obviously a fair amount of people did like the movie and I can't help but feel the movie was cheated with the low score it got.
Only 17%? I can understand it's nowhere near perfect, but only 17%? Gosh some people are so harsh but whatever I can't change the views of people who probably made up their minds years ago when the first saw the film.
Okay movie, I'd rewatch it but don't expect me to spend much on it.
