Review of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003) by Stipina S — 06 Oct 2012
I was originally was very disappointed with this movie, but since then I have read the first graphic novel that it was based on, and with that I watched it again. Now that I know what Allan Moore was trying to do, I think he has a lot less to complain about it.
Sure, it is not exactly his vision, but it is in the spirit of it, and much of what he wrote is there. Saying that, it is not as bad a movie as I remember. Most of the cast is fine, the plot is silly, but if you have read the first book it is not really out of context.
My main complaint with the movie is the effects used on Hyde, it just looks really wrong, but other then that I think it is an ok film, not great, but I think I was overly harsh before, so now I will give it 3 stars.
