Review of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003) by Jake M — 19 Nov 2009
I had such high hopes for this film but they were turned into a crash and burn.
This is one of the worse superhero films ever made. Its not the worse but is one of them. What a shame that this was Sean Connery's last film. I can see why he would want to retire after making this movie.
The story is predictable. It was a good idea to bring all these great characters into one movie but there was no chemistry between any of them.
The only good part about this movie, other than Sean Connery, is the character of Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde. I liked how they made Mr. Hyde look like a deformed version of The Hulk and that Dr. Jekyll didn't look like a wimpy chemistry teacher. The special effects used on him was great especially when he's Mr. Hyde.
This movie should be avoided at all cost. What a shame that this had to be Sean Connery's last movie.
