Review of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003) by Charlotta L — 05 Dec 2009
Here we have these brilliant characters; Dr Jekyll Mr Hyde, Dorian Gray, Huckleberry Finn, Mina Harker...together! It promised something great, how could these absolutley fantastic characters together neverless, not be brilliant.
Well...watch this and you'll see the result. I was just expecting...so much more. Something entirely different. I'm not even sure of what I was expecting...but this...wasn't it.
I think that the characters made me expect too much. So I wasn't really that impressed. The characters are beautifully portrayed, I think the actors did a really good job portraying these infamous characters. I especially liked Stuart Townsend as Dorain Gray.
So poor portraying wasn't the problem...it was more of the plot.
It could have been done entirely different and more...well introuging I guess and not so ridicolous. I mean yeah it's a fantasy adaption but please...it didn't make sense. When I think about it there was no actualy plot, none that made any sense atleast. You couldn't follow the story line (there was none to speak of) and it wasn't co-exsistent.
So great performances and charactarisations. Really poor plot.
