Review of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003) by Thomas S — 24 Mar 2011
(I gave it 5 Stars to get People to read this... It's important.).
[Real Rating: 3.5 Stars.].
This is the story of a double-double-double bluff, and some Guy's master plan to murder Sean Connery.
There is a lot of CGI. and a lot of explosions, but that was the point.
While watching it yesterday, We reached the conclusion that some English Person must have written it, just to mock the American Stereotype.
When We looked it up on IMDB. quel surprise, it was.
If You don't get the Literary References such as, "Call me Ishmail", and all of the other really subtle Jokes, then yeah... This Film is rubbish.
However, if You take it as face value, and think of Sean Connery as James Bond, (for example,) when He says about His past relationships with Women.
It's actually really clever.
Anyone who didn't enjoy it, have a look at all of the Spoilers, showing You where the Jokes are, and watch it again.
That's what I did, and it were a lot better the second time.
Which, actually justifies a full 5 Stars... As it turns out.
