Review of The Lazarus Effect (2015) by Mark K — 13 Mar 2015
Somewhere within this movie is a really fascinating look at how people are effected by their actions, the everlasting pain of guilt, and what heaven or hell are made of. Unfortunately some narrative choices, particularly the ending, seem to negate those themes for typical horror tropes.
Olivia Wilde is fantastic as Dr Zoe McCall as her fear, guilt, and anger turn her into a psychic force of rage. Evan Peters also steals a few scenes with a similar comedic charm as that seen in X-Men: DOFP.
While this is a horror movie, It's more sure to the supernatural aspects of the film than any actual scares.
