Quirky and charming 70s noir written and directed by Robert Benton. "The Late Show" is a bittersweet movie with echoes of 1940s Raymond Chandler. Art Carney and Lily Tomlin makes an unlikely but perfect team in this underrated but highly enjoyable movie.
