Review of The Last Word (2017) by Peter G — 31 Mar 2017
I loved this movie. It is heart warming, uplifting and funny. Shirley MacLaine was fantastic in the role of Harriet Lauler, as if the role was specifically written for her. Amanda Seyfried was adorable as the writer retained to create Harriet's obituary.
Annjewel Lee Dixon was perfect in the role of Brenda, the precocious nine year old. The writing is wonderful, very engaging without becoming trite or sappy. Although the film has a moral, it is not preachy, but honest and insightful.
The characters fit the story perfectly. I am looking forward to seeing many more wonderful stories from Stuart Ross Fink, a new screen writer on the scene.
