Review of The Last Witch Hunter (2015) by Michael J — 26 Oct 2015
I came into this movie expecting nothing but cheese and it did not disappoint. The narrative has some interesting twists that are not executed very well and I think it could have been done with a diferent director. The effects are well done and are grounded in its world.
It's funny watching Vin Diesel with fake hair. So much so that it's awkward at this point in his career to take him seriously other than playing characters like Dominic Toretto, The Iron Giant or Groot. There are some interesting moments with Sir Michael Caine and I think it's mainly because of Sir Caine's tremendous talent. Elijah Wood is always that sneaky kind of character but I have seen him do a much better job and I feel like he was not allowed to.
I would recommend this if you had nothing else to watch and just wanted some mindless action.
