Review of The Last Witch Hunter (2015) by Jeremy L — 06 Feb 2016
I am no film critic, I am not jaded by having seen too many formulaic films, thus I really quite enjoyed this movie, and not just because of Rose Leslie's striking features (although I'd be lying if I said they didn't play a part).
Rose is one of those actresses that looks much better in person (and on film) than they do in photographs, not unlike Emma Stone. She's incredibly likeable, even not knowing the actress prior to this release, you find yourself rooting for her from her first appearance.
Also, (spoiler alert) I'm a sucker for happy endings. Quite frankly, I'd much rather have a happy ending that is not realistic, rather than maintain the realism at the expense of feeling depressed and sad as you leave the movie.
Films are about escapism and enjoyment, if you want to be depressed, go live your everyday life, or read the damn news.
