Review of The Last Wave (1977) by Rod A — 08 Mar 2010
Underneath the Sydney's modernity lies something much older, 50,000 years older to be exact. Richard Chamberlain slowly realizes that he is intimately involved with the apocalyptic changing of a cycle.
So much of this film is visually striking and I really enjoy the dialectic taking place between the aborigines and the colonists. There are a couple of bursts of overwrought acting, but aside from that, the film is deliciously creepy and thought-provoking.
